Sixty years ago, Grace's grandfather purchased a sandy outcropping between two lakes. It used to house a rail line. He planted trees. Now towering pines. He built not one, but two cabins. Now beautifully preserved and restored with their fun mid-century flair intact. He gardened in a plot at the top of the hill. Hauling down bushels upon bushels of food for his family. His life was here. Grace's mom grew up here. Grace, along with her siblings and cousins, spent months at a time at the cabin over the summers. This place is an anchor. Filled with memories. Family history.
But enough about the property. This day was about the people. Grace and David met as nurses in Rochester, MN. It was her first day at a new job. David was tasked with training her. He was immediately smitten. He eventually asked her out, she said yes, and soon realized that she was pretty smitten too. They bonded over their love of outdoor adventures, got engaged, and planned the most heartfelt family celebration. And now, as husband and wife, they get to put their love for adventures and caring for others together and head off as travel nurses.
Being a part of this day was so special; to see Grace's mom helping her get ready in the same boat house where she got ready for her wedding, many years ago; to see David's family and friends rally together to pull of the most amazing home-made Korean feast for all of the guests; to see Grace's cousins and siblings pour in from across the county and reconnect over memories of summers at the lake; to see David's friends absolutely bring the party. And the testament of love from the family and friends who gathered days in advance to put floral arrangements together (her bouquet? STUNNING), make signs, set up chairs, tables, tents, and make this day everything that it was.
