"Who said I love you first?"
Immediate response. Both of Bob's shoes shot into the air. Easy Question.
"Who planned the first date?"
Uncertainty. Jackie raises Bob's shoe halfheartedly. Bob raises Jackie's. She looks over her shoulder. "I don't know! It was over nine years ago!" Laughter. The shoe game is a wedding classic.
When I arrived at Bright Lake farm that morning I asked Bob how he was feeling. Wedding mornings typically bring their fair share of jitters. But not for Bob. He was totally relaxed, cracking jokes with his friends, beyond excited to see his bride. After nearly a decade of knowing and loving each other - of loving the people around them together - Jackie and Bob were saying 'heck yes' to forever without an ounce of trepidation. Their day was soaked in intentionality. And in kindness. As Jackie's sister and maid of honor said so accurately "Jackie makes kindness cool."
Every last detail was beautiful and meticulously organized. Jackie's pearl details - from her shoes, to her clutch, her earrings, and the heirloom pearl necklace she wore - were stunning. The day ran as smooth as can be thanks to Jackie's planning and Kathy and the Marty family at Bright Lake who hosted with such wonderful servant hearts. This day was truly an honor to be a part of. The kind that a little September rain couldn't put a damper on.
Cheers to the Dellwos - to a lifetime of lighting up rooms, caring for people deeply, and eating all the best desserts (Lake Elmo Inn knocked it out of the park).
